Affiliation: She teaches Muggle Studies, is fond of muggles, doesn't think that muggles should be persecuted for any reason, so... she's on the good side.
Appearance:
Charity Burbage is thirty five years old but it isn't obvious. She skin is smooth as she's always purchased expensive lotions to keep it baby soft. The same goes for her hair which is long and blond. Her eyes are an icy blue that could be mistaken for gray. Charity is tall for a woman at 5'8 and has a lean figure, almost too bony depending on how you look at it. One of the only part of her body that can be aged accordingly are her hands which are worn with wear and wrinkled.
History:
Charity grew up in the south of Ireland, the youngest of three girls. She lived in an average house with both parents and attended Hogwarts at the age of eleven. She's always been treated fairly and really didn't have any out of the ordinary experiences. When she was eighteen and graduated from school, she spent a summer living among muggles, observing them and trying to live as they do. To Charity, it was something so different and yet fantastic at the same time. They did almost everything that wizards and witches do without the use of magic!
The same fall, she took a job with an independent news magazine, writing about the muggle world and sharing the wonders with the magical folks who were reading every week. She enjoyed this indirect teaching and decided to attend a wizard normal school to earn her teaching degree. Once graduated, she spent nine years at Beauxbatons Academy, teaching a course titled Muggle Life in Theory.
During her second year of teaching in France, she met a young gentleman who wooed her in a month and married her in another. They lived for eight years in a small apartment just south of Paris. When they felt they were finally prepared to start a family, Charity found that she couldn't produce any children and that was the end of her marriage.
Devastated, she left her teaching position and took sixth months to heal herself of the pain. Just when she felt ready, she got word of a position opening up much closer to home, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the very school she went to.
Naturally, she jumped at it and the rest is history yet to be written.
Personality:
Charity was always lighthearted and fun to be around. Her divorce mellowed her out a bit, making her slightly more reserved and private. She does her best to make her classes fun and interesting, often indulging in hands on activities and open discussions.
She enjoys a good joke now and then and can be slightly sarcastic when the mood sets her. It doesn't take much to anger her but she's very defensive of muggles and their rights.
Charity likes it when it's slightly chilly and enjoys a good pour, always taking the opportunity to relax with a book and listen to the rain outside. She's known to stay inside on sunny days, mostly to protect her skin from the rain but rays shining through a window put her in a good mood as well.
Tea is Charity's favorite drink, whether hot or cold, just don't put any sugar. She eats enough chocolates to take care of that.
She's not a fan of alcohol or smoking but won't judge others for their likings of such things. She doesn't judge people for most things, unless they believe that life is about blood and the pureness of it.
Charity smiles at babies yet keeps her distance. She enjoys a good, rigorous game of wizard's chess and always looks forward to a challenge.
Most people you could ask would say that she's genuinely a good person.
